Sometimes it happens that invitation links do not open directly in the Klubraum app for iOS users, but in Safari.
One reason for this could be that you are using an email app other than Mail (e.g. 1&1 Mail), which mistakenly opens all app links in the browser. If this is the case, you can either copy the link and paste it into Klubraum ("Join a Klubraum" - "I have a link"), or copy the link into the Apple Notes app and open it from there.
Sometimes it also happens that the links cannot be opened even from the standard Mail app from Apple. This is the case if the Apple server, which verifies the connection between the app and the link, was not available the first time the link was opened.
If this happens to you, you should first wait half a day (sorry!), because only then the verification will be tried again. Then please click on the invitation link in the email and hold it longer. Then the following options should appear:
Click "Open in Klubraum" and your invitation link should now open normally in the Klubraum app. Also in the future, all Klubraum links should now open in the app instead of the browser.
If this doesn't help, you can also use the link via Join a Klubraum - I have a link manually.
Tip: The cause of the problem is that the iPhone could not verify the link between the Klubraum app and the web address web.klubraum.com, e.g. because there was a connection problem with Apple's verification server. This verification is then retried a few hours later. Often the Klubraum links are opened correctly half a day or a day later (after successful verification).
If all this doesn't help you, feel free to contact us via the feedback function or by email to [email protected].
If the Klubraum app is already installed on your Android smartphone, the first time you click on a Klubraum link you will be asked if you want to open it in Klubraum:
The screen varies depending on the manufacturer, Android version and set language. However, you should always choose Klubraum and not the web browser.
You have accidentally selected the browser here and adopted this setting forever? You can reset this setting in the Android settings under Apps - Klubraum - Open by default (see image below).
If this doesn't help, you can also use the link via Join a Klubraum - I have a link manually.
Invitation links that you have received directly from Klubraum by email lose their validity after one week. If you have received such an invitation link and it is no longer valid, you can request a new link to the same email address at any time. For security reasons, this new link will only be valid for 15 minutes.
You will know that you have opened an expired email invitation link when you see the following screen:
Now select Join a Klubraum.
Click on I have an invitation.
Here you can enter your email address to have a new invitation link sent to you. Please make sure that it is exactly the same email address that you used to receive the invitation.
Not getting the notifications you would expect? Below we show the possible causes and the corresponding problem solution.
You can easily check if the push notifications are enabled in the app. Go to the settings and there to notifications and check if the top entry push notifications is active.
If push notifications cannot be activated, you have probably not given the corresponding permission or revoked it in the app settings.
When you first start the Klubraum app, you will be asked if you allow Klubraum to send you push notifications. If you did not give permission here, the push notifications are not active.
To learn how to grant permission for push notifications retrospectively, click here.
Another possible reason for not being able to activate push notifications is the possibility that you ended up in our web app on your smartphone instead of the mobile app (see below).
You received an invitation to Klubraum, followed the link on your smartphone and have since been using Klubraum without having installed the mobile app from the AppStore or Google Play?
Sometimes it happens that Klubraum opens in the browser even though the app is installed. This is also the case, for example, when you use the 1&1 Mail app to read your emails. In this case, all app links are always opened in the browser by mistake.
To check if you have landed in the web app, look at the edge of the screen to see if you can see the usual browser bar:
A reference to the mobile app is also displayed. Visually, our web app is otherwise hardly distinguishable from the mobile app.
Solution: If this is the case, there is an easy solution. Install our app from the Apple AppStore or Google Play.
If you have already installed the app but the link still opens in the browser, you can find help here: Mein Link öffnet sich im Browser statt der App.
You would like to be informed about new events and conversations from your areas via push notifications? Maybe you are even a member of these areas?
Solution: to be notified about new events and conversations, you need to subscribe to the areas of your choice. Here you have the possibility to choose if you are interested in new events and/or new conversations.
You have been notified about a new conversation or event, but now you don't receive any notifications about new messages or event updates?
To achieve a balanced ratio of notifications, you will initially receive only one notification for new events and conversations. If you are interested in the event or conversation, you can now sign up for further notifications.
Solution: Subscribe to the desired event or conversation via the icon with the bell to stay up to date.
Tip: When you participate in conversations, you automatically subscribe to the conversation. You can unsubscribe at any time.
